Hastings Hot Houses

In August I will be taking part in Hastings Hot Houses.
I will be sharing space with several other artists at 4 Dudley Rd. Hastings, UK.

It's Hastings Old Town Week - there'll be loads going on.
So why not come along and say hello and maybe buy a few prints too!

Many Houses and Studios will be opening during Hastings Old Town Week ~ 1st - 9th August 2009 and full details will be listed nearer the time.

Seagull 1

I am very, very pleased with this A4 linoprint.
Again, I have printed on to a Gicleé background.

Jaguar Girl

This image was originally drawn as a sample for a nightclub in Ibiza to use on their posters.
I liked it so much that I decided to turn it into an A4 Giclée print.

What is a Giclée print?

What is Giclée? Well, basically it's the term the Arts world uses for Ink Jet Printing.
I print at very high resolution on a variety of art papers.
I always use archival quality waterproof inks. These do not fade over time as normal ink does. However, as with any art it is not advisable to hang them in strong sunshine.

You can read more info about Giclée printing on Wikipedia here.

Green Man 1

This is the first print I was happy to show anyone.
It is a lino cut printed onto a photographic Giclée background featuring autumn leaves.

I intend to produce a series of Green Man Images with the ultimate aim of running a stall at Hastings annual Jack in the Green Festival.

Good Morning!

Well, everyone starts with 'This is my first post!' so why should I be any different.

I've never had a blog before. I've tried Twitter, Facebook and Myspace and find them a bit annoying at best!I use several Forums on a regular basis The Cartoonists Club, Pro Cartoonists, SFX, MacFormat to name a few, but I've never really wanted to blog. Probably because I thought that I didn't have a reason and that I wouldn't have anything to say.

Well, that's all changed since I discovered printmaking. I absolutely love it.
I started slowly late last year and have spent the last six months learning the ropes. Finally I am ready to show the world my work and this blog, I have decided, is the place to start!

So, I will be posting all my new prints online as and when I am happy with them. I may even occasionally post a few 'work in progress' photos in case anyone is interested in the process.
Watch this space.
